The note “G” is the seventh letter of the musical alphabet and is the fifth tone of the C Major scale. This is known as the dominant and is identified as “Sol” in solfeggio.
“G” is the second line in the treble clef in which the lower curl encircles. The symbol for treble clef is a stylised “G” and therefore it is called the “G Clef”.
