About “Cherished Memories”
Cherished memories are like treasures carefully kept in the vault of our hearts. They are the moments that leave a lasting mark on our souls, bringing forth feelings of joy, nostalgia and gratitude. These memories encompass times spent with loved ones, unforgettable adventures, milestones achieved and moments of personal growth. They are the threads that weave the fabric of our lives, linking us to our past and shaping our future.
Within the tapestry of cherished memories, we find comfort, solace and inspiration. They serve as pillars of strength during difficult times, reminding us of the love, laughter and joy that life offers. Cherished memories have the power to transport us back in time, allowing us to relive past experiences with vivid clarity. They are cherished not only for the moments themselves but also for the stories they inspire and the lessons they impart. As we navigate through life, we continue to add to our collection of cherished memories, valuing each one as a testament to the richness of the human journey.
The Music
I remember one night I couldn’t sleep and the clock was ticking closer to 1am. I remember feeling so inspired and motivated to write something that I went down to the piano and began writing this duet between piano and guitar. The piece didn’t take long and I felt like everything was all produced within an hour. I started the piece with the piano playing arpeggios in the left hand and slight movements in the right hand. The guitar would interject here and there with passing notes. This entire first section was setting the scene for the chorus and the heart of the piece at 32 seconds in. Here the melody really sounds the melody. The melody is a simple descending sequence that creates this longing and cry. At the 1 minute mark, we return to the beginning section followed by the ‘chorus’ as it were. 1:53, the music begins to shift and grow as new chords and movements from both guitar and piano begin to take shape. This build continues and then dissipates by 2:56. We then have the piano and guitar playing these beautiful harmonies that just sing as the guitar plays an arpeggiated sequence. We then have a restatement of the ‘chorus’ theme at the end.
