Alone in a big city, one can’t help but feel both insignificant and oddly liberated. Surrounded by towering buildings, bustling crowds and a sea of anonymity, there is a sense of being a small speck in an expansive universe. Yet, in the midst of this vastness, there is an opportunity for self-discovery and introspection. Alone in a big city, one has the freedom to explore hidden corners, dive into cultural experiences, and find solace in unexpected moments of solitude.

In the heart of the city’s chaos, there is a unique blend of loneliness and connection. Amidst the throngs of people, each seemingly absorbed in their own worlds, there exists a subtle understanding that we are all sharing this urban journey together. It is in this aloneness that we find ourselves, allowing us to tap into our inner thoughts and feelings. The city becomes a canvas for self-exploration, where we can grow, adapt, and find our place within the tapestry of urban life.

The Music

Alone – Big City has quite an indie rock feel to it that gives it a relaxed but driven feel. The piece begins with atmospheric SFX of the city followed by a rock piano playing basic whole note chords, an electric guitar, bass and a drum. Each musical instrument establishes a steady tempo and groove that helps set the scene. By 50 seconds the piano begins to increase the chordal rhythm and we move into the B section of the song. By 1:40 we have a brief moment of silence and then all the instruments pick up again with more movements really lifting the piece.
