The Music

The instrumentation in this piece is made up of a piano and guitar only. It is a duet that evolves and grows like the rising of a sun on a new day. The piece has distinct sections (ABC Form and then repeats). The A section begins with the piano providing the accompaniment and the guitar playing the guitar. It is a delicate section with the piano staying in a mid to higher register. The B section sees the piano take the melody and the guitar accompanying. It has a descending melodic sequence that creates this almost longing feel. In the C section sounds and feels like a reflection of the passing day. The forms repeat again except now with the addition of a choir pad, that helps to create more depth and layers to the simple song. With each new pass of sections A and B, the dynamics grow and build. In the final C section, we return to a simple piano and guitar melody duet.
